Support Camp Experiences for Youth

With your support, our youth, ages 11 to 13, can avail the opportunity to attend an overnight wilderness camp in Haliburton Ontario in August 2025 and develop the skills to lead outdoor programs for our community in the future.

Camp Activities

The camp provides opportunities for youth to engage in outdoor survival skills, outdoor cooking skills, canoe rescue skills, rock climbing, archery, hiking, swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, snorkeling and stargazing. Youth sleep in tents, survive outdoors in all weather without running water or flush toilets, and learn to cope with dirt and insects.

“I went to camp mainly to spend time with my friends, and I’m so glad I did. We had to make our own food, we went canoeing and we played a lot of games. I didn’t like the bugs, but being with my friends made it all worth it.”

- Layla, age 12

“My daughter attended the EarthSteps camp last year. It was something nobody in our family had ever done, but when she came home she couldn’t stop talking about what an amazing experience it was. I was very impressed that, even though the camp pushed and challenged my daughter in many ways, she came home with confidence and a new appreciations for nature.”

-Mahvish

Camp is a wonderful experience. There were many activities like canoing, hikes, swimming and more. They teach us how to cook our own food which is very fun.
— Hamza, age 11

Why Attend Camp?

We are in the midst of a mental health crisis among our youth. Spending time outside in nature improves mental and physical health and instills an awe and connection to The Creator. The opportunity to develop outdoor skills and endure challenging conditions without the comforts of home, builds the strength, confidence and resilience our youth need to face life’s challenges.
